Parker Ermeto Cutting Ring Fittings
Ermeto is the Parker cutting ring fitting system for tube lines to DIN 2353. As the nut is tightened the ring bites into the tube, creating grip and seal in one step. Tube outside diameter and series are chosen separately: L for the light, S for the heavy version. A complete joint needs body, ring and nut from the same series.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a cutting ring and a progressive ring?
Both sit in the same fitting. The classic cutting ring bites into the tube surface with a single edge. The progressive ring deforms in stages as the nut is tightened and spreads the clamping force more evenly over the tube. Which ring belongs to an article is stated in its designation.
Series L or S: which one fits my application?
L is the light series, S the heavy one. The heavy series is rated for higher operating pressures and carries a larger thread at the same tube diameter. Do not mix the two within one joint, even where the tube diameter matches.
Can a cutting ring fitting be reused after it has been opened?
Yes, as long as ring and tube end are undamaged. The ring stays seated on the tube after pre-assembly; on reassembly, tighten until resistance rises noticeably plus the additional turn specified by the manufacturer. A deformed or cracked ring is replaced.

Reducing Fittings
A reducing fitting sits between two threads of different size, one in the component and one on the line. Check thread form and nominal size separately, because parallel G threads and tapered NPT threads are not interchangeable. If one side is wrong, assembly fails or the joint leaks under operating pressure.
Snap-tite Quick Couplings
A quick coupling is always two halves, and both must come from the same series. A coupler and nipple from different series will sometimes mate mechanically but will not seal reliably. The part number carries series, size and connection in that order; the combination each article uses is listed in its technical data.
Parker A-LOK Compression Fittings
A-LOK is a twin-ferrule compression fitting for instrumentation, analyser and process lines. The front ferrule seals against the tube, the back ferrule grips and carries the load. Both belong to the joint and are not swapped individually for other makes. Imperial and metric tube sizes are not interchangeable, even where the numbers sit close together.
Parker D1VW Directional Valves
The D1VW series covers direct-operated directional spool valves with solenoid actuation. Selection runs on four axes: spool symbol, coil voltage, seal material and spring return. NBR and FPM differ in media and temperature resistance, not in the mounting pattern, which is why a mix-up only shows up in service.
