A reducing fitting sits between two threads of different size, one in the component and one on the line. Check thread form and nominal size separately, because parallel G threads and tapered NPT threads are not interchangeable. If one side is wrong, assembly fails or the joint leaks under operating pressure.
During lowering the counterbalance valve does the braking work, so the lowering speed is set by the control system and not by the load. If that braking action is missing or the valve is wrongly sized, the load sags on start-up and the lowering motion turns jerky.
A bladder accumulator is a hydropneumatic pressure vessel: inside the steel shell, an elastic bladder separates the nitrogen-precharged gas side from the oil side. When system pressure rises the accumulator takes in oil, and when it falls it gives the oil back. That is how you store energy, damp pulsations, absorb pressure surges or compensate for leakage losses. Four figures narrow the selection: nominal volume, permissible working pressure, port and the elastomer of the bladder, which has to suit the medium and the temperature. Typical nominal volumes range from about 4 to 50 litres with pressure ratings up to 350 bar. PTS supplies bladder accumulators from Parker Olaer, HYDAC and Bosch Rexroth from stock, plus mounting clamps, seal kits and replacement bladders, so an accumulator can be repaired instead of replaced outright.
PTS supplies hydraulic heavy-duty cylinders from stock at 50 to 150 tonnes of nominal force, with strokes of 50 to 300 mm, single- and double-acting in a compact design. Forces and strokes outside that range are available as further versions on request.
Flange spreaders act on a seized flange joint. It is opened for maintenance or assembly work. The gap has to open evenly, or the sealing face is damaged. How much spreading force is needed depends on the size of the flange and how tightly it is seized.
Hydraulic torque wrenches come as a cassette wrench or with a square drive. Clearance at the bolted joint settles the choice. The flat cassette head reaches bolts too confined for a socket; the square drive covers several across-flats sizes with standard impact sockets. A drive unit and a matching reaction arm are part of the set either way.
Linear rails in standard length ship from stock. For any other length, PTS cuts the rail in-house. Size, accuracy class and length are settled up front. Common sizes run from 15 to 45 in accuracy classes N and H.
The runner block is the moving element of a ball rail system and takes up the forces and moments from the mounting structure. Its size and preload class set the rigidity of the axis; its accuracy class sets how true the axis runs.
A quick coupling is always two halves, and both must come from the same series. A coupler and nipple from different series will sometimes mate mechanically but will not seal reliably. The part number carries series, size and connection in that order; the combination each article uses is listed in its technical data.
Ermeto is the Parker cutting ring fitting system for tube lines to DIN 2353. As the nut is tightened the ring bites into the tube, creating grip and seal in one step. Tube outside diameter and series are chosen separately: L for the light, S for the heavy version. A complete joint needs body, ring and nut from the same series.
A-LOK is a twin-ferrule compression fitting for instrumentation, analyser and process lines. The front ferrule seals against the tube, the back ferrule grips and carries the load. Both belong to the joint and are not swapped individually for other makes. Imperial and metric tube sizes are not interchangeable, even where the numbers sit close together.
The D1VW series covers direct-operated directional spool valves with solenoid actuation. Selection runs on four axes: spool symbol, coil voltage, seal material and spring return. NBR and FPM differ in media and temperature resistance, not in the mounting pattern, which is why a mix-up only shows up in service.
An industrial shock absorber decelerates a moving mass over a defined stroke instead of letting it run into a hard stop. It is sized from moving mass, impact velocity, any additional drive force and the number of cycles per hour. The thread size in the designation is the mounting dimension and says nothing about the energy the unit can absorb.
A linear position transducer reports the position of a piston or carriage to the controller as an electrical signal. Two figures drive the selection: the measuring length, which has to cover the usable stroke, and the output signal the controller expects. Both are encoded in the type designation and repeated in the article technical data.
A flange pressure gauge is fitted into the panel from the front and secured through its front ring. Three figures drive the selection: case diameter, measuring range and connection thread. Choose the range so the normal operating pressure sits around the middle third of the scale, because readings at either end of the scale lose accuracy.
A pressure switch monitors a pressure and switches once a set value is exceeded or undershot. On the electronic EDS series, pressure range, output type and electrical connection are specified separately. A range chosen too wide costs resolution exactly where the working point sits.
